About Me

Just a quick overview of myself. My name is Samantha Bigger. I’m a second year LIS (Library and Information Studies) graduate student at the School of Information at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). My undergraduate degree is in Information Technology, so yes, I can probably fix your computer, but I won’t. You can normally find me in the Graduate Library either on the Reference Desk, the Knowledge Navigation Center, or in my office. I was lucky enough to get the chance to be an University Library Associate (ULA), which has allowed me to be immersed in my chosen field with a very awesome set of librarians.

My two loves have always been books and video games, which may seem like an odd set. My mother read to me from a young age and my father instilled the love of all things technical.  Starting out as a PC gamer at a very young age, I received my first console (NES) when my father injured himself and it just continued from there.

This blog is my way of connecting two very different, but important aspects of my life. Technology is becoming integral to the library world and riding on that wave are video games. This is what I want to be a part of.
